Tranny oil change?

Just wondering what brand of tranny fluid is the best to use on my L for the tranny oil and filter change? Is Royal Purple max ATF good?

by just pulling the pan your only draining about 6 qts. from the tranny, out of the 12 or more thats in the Tq. Converter.. etc. i dont know how well mixing 2 fluid brands will be. i personally would use Motorcraft Mercon/Mercon V, since normal Mercon was discontinued for Mer. 5. just my 2 cents

Unless your doing a proper flush just go get it from the stealership. CXT 5 LM12 is the part number unless they can get 4 L jugs down there.

I've always used Motorcraft Mercron, but now I use Mercron V. I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket tranny fluids.

I like somewhere between 30,000 and 35,000 miles.

Usually at work we suggest a flush every 30k or so. We we don't do many filter changes. We hook a flush machine in the cooler lines and push 16 new quarts in and if pushes the old back out into a bladder
