Toyo R888R talk

So with the R888's slowly phasing out, I'm having troubles trying to find what I'm looking for. Is anyone running the R's yet or heard good/bad things about them in the cobra community? IfI can't wrap the car in the R888's I may just pull the trigger and try out the R's.

I ordered the R888R's for my Viper in 295/30/18 and 345/30/19. The fronts came in last week, the rears made it to Kansas City this afternoon, I'll see them in the morning. I'm looking forward to running them.

Phasing the R888 out?!? Figures, I really like that tire and the 305/35/18 size for the rear. I see the 295 is the widest the R is made in 18".

Guess I should go ahead and order 2 more R888s from tirerack while they still have them

They make them in 315 and 335 for 18's.

Hmm tirerack wasn't showing that or I messed up. I did see it on toyos homepage tho

But anyway, I'm not a fan of the 30 series for the 315 it's only 25.5" tall. My fronts are 25.7" tall. I like the 26.3" tall 305/35. The 335 is just too wide

So, what's the story on the R888 being phased out? It's still showing up on Toyos page and doesn't say anything about being discontinued

Lol, I was buying nitto 555r's in the late 90s...those are still made.

I guess toyo just isn't selling enough of the R888....I was under the impression they were VERY popular, even on the exotics. I guess not

I spoke to TOYO the other day on the phone and they said they're phasing out the 888's. Further, tire rack confirmed this today and I actually got my hands on two rears in 305/35. There was like 7 left in the country and they said they weren't receiving anymore after they were gone.

I also picked up a sent of 245/40 r888r's for the front so once I get them mounted I'll make sure to throw a review out for others looking to try them!

Put 265/35 up front and sits perfect with the 315's

Well this sucks even though it will probably take quite a while before I'll need another set.

Looks like I may try the MT et street s/s next. I can't remember if other cobra owners have had good luck with them?

I prefer the 35 series mainly for more sidewall. Especially running around 700rwhp.

Well you can have the 315/35 in TQ d/r or go with different brand. I have 315 r888 and have no issues..looks better than 305/35 too

265 will fit fine on 8.5 anyways
