Torch Red really Colorado Red!

Can anyone tell me why Cobra owners refer to Colorado Red Terminators as Torch Red? The real name of the color is Colorado Red, so I am just trying to figure out where the name came from.

Yep just had my bumpers paint and they used this color code my bumpers match perfect

well if you look at your drivers door, the exterior paint code is D3. If you go to and get Ford touchup paint they ask for your paint code, and D3 is classified as Colorado Red, so where did the name "Torch Red" come from

I have no idea where they came up with Torch red but it sounds better then Colorado red LOL

Torch Red is used for S197's and is the same color as Colorado Red.
