I picked up a Nikon D5000 with the kit lens the other day (AF-S DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR). It's my first SLR, and was recommended to me as a beginner camera. I'm still trying to figure out all the settings and adjustments that go with different shots. These are some pictures I took today, let me know what you think and how I can make them better. Also, what kind of settings do you guys use when taking pictures of your cars (aperture, iso, etc)?

I got it from Best Buy for $799.99 + tax = $877.99. MSRP is $850. For the body only, I think the MSRP is $700 or $750.

A good all around aperture for car pictures is 7.1. If you have the lighting the less iso the better. Other than that, it's all about position, using natural lighting, and scenery.

Very nice dude.

black is so hard to shoot and your pictures look awesome

Thanks!

Pictures look pretty good.

What editing software did you use?

Thanks, I used Adobe Lightroom 2.4. For the HDR picture, I used Photomatix Pro 3.0.
