So, I recently purchased a 2004 Cobra with 20,400 miles from a friend.
It's current power level is at 455 rwhp and 465 rwtq.
I've had it for around a month now and it is in great shape.
The friend I bought it from babied it and was never abusive a hard on it.
I dont have any slipping when i get on it hard or anything,
but I noticed that i'm getting a slight squeel ( very quite) from the TOB.
It goes away when clutch is depressed.

I ordered a Ford Racing TOB from Lethal and a TOB Retaining Sleeve from LFP.

I know that its a hassel to drop the transmission but Im not feeling it necessary to replace the cluch or flywheel now. And I dont mind doing it again when the time does come for a clutch.

I'm not that hard on the clutch only get on it every now and then, no drag strip service.

How long do you guys at this power level think the stock clutch will last?

And, should I wait till the squeal is more pronounced?
Or, just replace it asap?

Thanks for your input, I did alot of searching but couldn't find to much info on stock clutch life and it seemed like everyone with the TOB squeal had a much more definite( Loud) sqeal.

well the squeal is the first sign and won't get any better obviously, but if you can live with it, maybe just wait until it is more pronounced? then just replace the tob?

my stock clutch and tob lasted 40k. clutch and tob seemed to fail about the same time

now i am on my third clutch and 4th tob. one thing i notice about these things on my car is that they never seem to last as long as the stock setup.

now my current tob is beginning to make some noise at 15k. but the clutch seems fine.

adjustment has alot to do with it. do you have the stock quadrant/adjuster?
