Got to run a new C6 this morning.
Saw it on way to work on 4 lane road with lots of traffic. So was just driving by in left lane (it was that Sunset color and he had C6-** on his plate) he didn't even look over. Then I got in right lane in front of him and was all clear on left lane, but light was red 1/2 mile up the road. When all of a sudden he gets on it and goes around me in left lane then puts right turn signal on, then goes in front of me to get in far right lane which is the expressway ramp. Now I know he wants to run me after that, so I down shift to 2nd and get behind him. The cool thing about this ramp is it is 2 lanes for over 3/4 of mile before you hit the expressway and we were the only ones on it. It only took a few seconds and by fourth gear I was 2 cars ahead when I let off. Not surprising that a stock C6 is no match against my highly modified Cobra. But it did look BAD ASS, I would have traded him on the spot for it. That color looks so good in person.

I haven't seen a C6 run at the track, anyone know what they run?

Stock they are hampered by the runflats. The Z06 came with Goodyear Supercar tires which are very good compared to the standard tires on the C6. The runflat design is a very stiff sidewall that does NOT flex and is bad for tire grip. The M6's are falling in the high to mid 12's @ 112-114 mph. A set of Nitto drag radials should net easy low 12's. The LS2 has lotsa potential due to it's 6.0L displacement with a nice heads @ cam setup, 450-475rwhp should be easily attainable. What is keeping this from happening is that there is currently no LS2 programming software available to tune the motor after mods are done. LS1 Edit @ similar programs will not work with the LS2. They're working on versions are we speak. Nice Kill BTW!!!!! I think the color is Daytona Sunset Metallic......

A C-6, more than likely stock, only lost by two cars to a supercharged 347 by 4th gear? That's not too bad IMO. Nice kill. Which performer heads do you have? Hopefully at least the RPM's. Because your car should be well into the 10's with those mods I would think.

I roasted one yesterday going on a on ramp heading East on the 105. It wasn't as close of a race as the Z06 I raced a while back. But then again I didn't have my ported blower back then either. He said it was an automatic. How much of a difference is there between the auto's and manuals in power and times??

Well I was behind him by 2 cars to start with.
Have stage 2 ported RPM's. Probably 10's with slicks, but don't have roll bar, so only legal for mid 11's.

quicker than what? A cobra that runs 127mph traps?

isn't it alittle early to be drinking?
In general, I have been readin them runnin mid to high 12 mostly high 12s. For a car that has the power like the z06s I'd figure it run just as good and it don't.

As far as me drinkin go f@ck yourself...

i was reading on some of the Corvette boards and allot guys with the new C6 weren't busting into the 12's...they were running low 13's. These guys supposedly were experienced drivers too. Yup, they were all confused....

they have a traction control system that cant be shut off completely. i think the new hotrod is doing a buildup on just full exhaust and messing with the t/c system i think. they gained 20some hp with the exhaust. if i remember right the car ran mid 11's. not sure though.

Not true; in fact, GM made it easier to turn it off.

Later C5s and all C6s have a Traction Control system and an Active Handling system. With either model you can turn everything off. The only thing that you can't disable is the Antilock Brake System (ABS).
