Tire questions for my 2013 Shelby GT500. I'm currently running Nitto NT555 G2s with 285/35ZR20s in the back. Have the 265s up front.

Well, I decided on the Nitto NT555 RIIs for the rear. 305/35 R20s. Tried to order them on Discount Tire but they refuse to mount them because they said they're too big for the stock 9.5" rim.

Any recommendations?

I went through the same thing with my hellcat. I paid the tech $50 and he did them after hours.

Don't go to a chain. Find a mom and pop garage. Be sure to tip them, they are a bitch to get on the rim.

Not sure.

I believe a few people ITT said they've run it on the stock 9.5 with good results. Also, visually, I like the wider tire look.

I know people will run a 275/60 on a 15x8 (and a 15x10)

And I know the 305/45 is common on a 17x10

But I had a 315x35 on a 17x10.5, and really it was too wide and I wasn't using all the width (at least that's how it seemed). I would have liked to try a 275 on that wheel.

Then you guys have the 275 pro radials on a 14" wide wheel but that's a whole different ball game...

Try another shop but I believe Nitto makes a 295 also?
Either way it’s a great choice.
I had my rear wheels widened to 11” at Weldcraft locally for around $500

Yes, Discount Tire said they do and they would be able to mount the 295s. Would going from 295s to 305s be much of a difference?

305s are bulge on a 9.5. You will actually have more contact patch with a 295. I went with the 305s because I thought the bulge looked kind of cool. At your power level either will hook fine.

Agreed. 295/35 wasn’t available when I had my early hellcat. Best choice on a 9.5

Yea, while I like the wider look, size of the contact patch is more important.

I need more traction.

Getting the Nitto NT555 RIIs 295/35/20s installed on Monday.

Can't wait to see how they perform.
Wow, night and day difference.

Was just out doing a few pulls and even at 60 degrees I was barely getting wheel spin!

I feel like I added 2-3 tenths just with better tires.
