Well, the season is coming near where we'll be driving around the cobras a lot more with the nice weather coming soon. I have interest in getting a set of drag radials for mostly street use/strip occasionally. I was looking at the tires Nitto has to offer. I'd like suggestions and any experience with Nitto radials, or any other radial that you've had good experience with. Currently I've got NT 555's in 315 on the back with ~3000 miles if anyone is interested if I decide on another tire.

Thanks

Best advice is to search man. Topic has been beat to death. That being said
First how much are you looking to spend? Are you going to be driving in the rain? Do you want a lot of miles out of the tire? And so on

Tires to look at
-Toyo R888
-Toyo Tq
-Nitto Nt05 and Nt05r
-BFG Drag Radial
-Hoosier's Drag Racing Radial
-Micket Thompson Et Street Radial

Oh and you can just toss the nt555 you have now. Basically useless at your power level.

LOL... nt555's are useless at my power levels!

This is a good list, the ones I'm considering are Toyo Tq, Hoosier's, and ET streets. I wouldn't even bother with any of nitto's offerings.

Did a lot of searching and seems like guys have good reviews of the Toyo R888. I'm planning to go with these and my new setup.

Justin,

If you have to have a DR, go with either the Toyo TQ or the MT ET 2's.

Otherwise, R888 all day long. I just ordered these for my new set up. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

I hear about increased road noise with the R888 and poor heavy down poor stability. Anyone confirm this? (Mostly the road noise)

Justin, the nitto's on your car are probably not worth much so personally I would milk them till they are shot.

When the time comes when I need to buy new rear tires, I will be going with the Toyo Proxy TQ 315/35/18's. After some research those seem like the best tire to me as far as thread life/grip goes. Just my .02.

This question has been asked on numerous occasions. At the end of the day it's a matter of preference....everyone has their own opinion ya know?

OP, what you need at your power level are MT ET Streets and all the traction problems will be gone.

I really like my nto5r. Much much better than the 555r. Like a whole different level. My bro in law just switched from mickeys to nto5r also and likes them better. He puts down 700+ to the wheels.

I currently have 315 R888's and 275 KDW2's in the front, my tires are noisy as Fk! Theyre awesome tho, real sticky for my setup (stock eaton).

After much research on the tires, including the MT's I must say the MT's took the prize. I'm going to end up purchasing a set of ET Street Radial II's in P295/45R17.

Thanks for the advice/suggestions.
