The track opens on the 26th of April in Colorado, and I am hoping to get gears and a new diff installed before then. My question is about gears (I have thoroughly researched the forums.) :

I have a 96 cobra with a 100 shot & Nitto 275/40/17 DR's and other various bolt-ons (x-pipe, catback, shifter, JLT etc.)

What is the absolute best gear for my current combo? I want 4.30's, where will I be at the end of the track and how bad will I spin with a 100 shot? (My window switch has a first gear lockout)

How about with 4.10's?

How about 3.90's?

I am not going any lower than 3.90's, I want the gears to make a difference. I need specific advice including wheel spin issues and where I'm going to be at the end of the track (gear, rpm).

If anybody has differential suggestions I'm up for those too, I'm considering an Auburn Ected (with full locker feature) 31 spline and some Strange SS 31 spline street axles.

Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Do you want a max effort gear or a safe gear?

Max effort, 4.30s

Safe. 3.90s-4.10s

If you are going to use 17" wheels go for the 3.90s
15" wheels with some real sticky tires go with 4.10s or 4.30s

Anyone have an idea of what I gear I will be going through the traps with if I have 3.90, 4.10, 4.30 and am spraying a 100 shot (approximately 370 rwhp/390 tq) at over a mile high?

Bone Stock the best trap speed I got out of the car a mile high was 94 mph with a 2.25 60'.
