Time for e85.. Have a few questions

My first question is to make sure my fuel system is ready for e85 and able to handle over 800 whp on e85...

Fuel System
-Full Return Style, Fore fuel hat with twin Walbro 405 pumps, -10an feed line to a y-block that splits to -8an lines to feed rails
-Fore fuel rails, Fore regulator with -8an return line, Fuel line is Aeroquip pushlock, & Fore FC2 pump controller
-ID 850cc injectors

My second question is what kind of power gains should I see with just switching to e85 with same boost level? And what gain I would see if adding boost?

Power setup
-2.9 whipple (3.2 pulley currently seeing 21 lbs)
-jlt highboost CAI Nextjen
-American racing long tube headers offroad x borla stinger catback
-fr500 cams
-Built 4.6 with 10:1 compression

Current set up made 741/747 on 93 with low timing.. Also thinking of switching to a 3.0 pulley to see around 23 lbs of boost, if I decide to up the boost.

2 things I see right off the bat:

No to the 405s (f90000262)....those are not E85 compatible. You need the 465s (f90000267) and make sure your fore hat has the appropriate mounting accessories to hold them

ID850s won't be enough....you'll need ID1000s at a minimum. Could possible need ID1300s.

As far as power, I would think the fuel swap alone and subsequent timing bump ought to get you at a minimum 40. Not sure what your current timing is on gas...but you say "low". Add the 2 additional psi to get 23 and there's no doubt you're going over 800 wheel. Should be awesome

+1

Give me a shout and I'll give you a good price on what you need to get the car setup for E85. I've got the injectors and fuel pumps in stock (465lph pumps).

Definitely go with the ID1000 as the 850's wont be enough. I'm looking to upgrade to the ID1000 but am currently running 80lb injectors on mine and am up there on the duty cycle. Better to go a little overkill then under.

personally, i would move up to the id1300's.
i saw a 2.9 max out a set of 1000's on e85 @ 815rwhp. yes, you could get more by turning up the base pressure but that puts more strain on the pumps.

If you have the budget...I'd go for the 1300s to be sure.

As far as the power, I try to guess conservative...and if that ends up being wrong to the up side, you'll be even happier lol.

Uhh yea
10.1 comp at 23 psi is going to make a shit load of power.. Listen to what everyone has said here.. ID1300, and dual 465's... The car is going to make WAAAAY more power than 800rwhp

Also ditch the pushlock for Teflon hose..

Very true that's what happened with the pump gas tune we guessed 700 came out 41 more than our guess

Why Telfon over the pushlock? I still got find a tire to somewhat hook this power up too lol :burnout:

Because it can withstand the corrosion of E85 better than anything else, and it won't smell.. The only thing that's going to hook up that kind of power is a 15/16" wheel with a lot of meat

You are gonna be easily knocking on the door of 800 with just the fuel and timing change. My 93 tune puts out 745 and the E85 tune on the same setup put down 794. I was given a rule of thumb of 6-10% change in power for a given setup with higher boost and compression moving toward the 10% range.
