I had a bad ass stepside, but it wasn't the L.
I loved that truck. Only thing I hated was the leather.
I’ve thought of that.
V6 Ford Stepside + Coyote and A6
Even without. Blower the truck would be a nice ride.

well 2v mustangs are kinda my favorite car to harass.
You also have to remember the best you'll probably do with a SRT is about 6-8 MPG city and about 12-14 highway, where as I done about 13-15 city and 22-24 highway with my 2002 Lightning. That is a big difference right there
da hell? 24mpg in a lightning? Either your math is wrong are you are completely delusional. These trucks have steam roller tires, short gearing and an inefficient heat pump sitting on top of an iron block dinosaur 2v engine with poor breathing heads. In my experience a lightning needs the grace of God to even crack 18mpg at highway speeds.
'
And driving 65-70 MPH you can yield 22-24 MPG with it anything faster and it'll suffer anything below 60 and it suffers but I was able to go from about Canton Oh to just a little shy of 37 miles of the Tenn border on 1 tank with mine doing the above 65-70 MPH speed
Lightning. its the best all around truck. the biggest knock on the Ram is the shear size of it. My neighbor has a 12 Super crew silverado with a mild lift. when are truck are out in front of our hoses my L looks like a ranger.
the L is the perfect size, i can still use it for house projects, but its small enough to toss around. you just have to remember the L comes from a bygone era, a tuned EB truck is going to give 95% of the Ls around a hard time on the street. everything is just so powerful these days. shoot the new 18 F150s with the 5.0 are like 5.3 to 60 or something and high 13s@104+. thats rolling for a stock truck.
Lightnings are special, there is something about them. they drive different, the power delivery, the smell of the seats...the are special. look how many posts in this thread about regretting selling their Ls. ive had my truck a little over two years and i have had probably 7 or 8 offers to sell it. including passers by seeing it in my garage, which makes me feel uneasy.
Get a L, do similar mods to mine and enjoy it. accept that without a 12K investment your not going to be out running much. my truck is quick enough to be fun, but i don't even try to mess with anyone, well 2v mustangs are kinda my favorite car to harass.
Timeless looks (love flare-side single cabs- they are extinct now) and just plain fun, but can still pull its own weight.
So yall are telling me a Lightning got better gas mileage than my automatic 4.6 GT? Yep not gonna believe that at all.
Hard to beat a clean SBAgree, so much want. This thread could use pics of said Lightnings for inspiration.
I got 16 once going about 60 mph for the tank in my 03. 24 is not real.da hell? 24mpg in a lightning? Either your math is wrong are you are completely delusional.
