propane - For lazy ass people (aka most Americans)

charcoal -A real man's fuel. my personal favorite although it can be a real bitch to get going. I love making carne asada on charcoal!

Charcoal because everytime I try to use the propane grill (we have both), I end up burning the damn steaks.

I use propane because I can regulate my heat with it. I find that I can get large quantities of food to cook the way that I want them too easier. For instance: 4 steaks rare and 4 steaks medium well, all at the same time. You don't need charcoal to add the flavor if you know how to marinade (sp) it right.

Charcoal.

If you don't have the time to cook out, you need to adjust your schedule so you can.

Don't shortchange your eating experience on outdoor grilling.

Thanks Nate, you had to bring up grilling, like i dont have enough nightmare about "cooking" myself on July 4  Charcoal i think tastes better, better heat control, just takes longer. In my new place i am going to have both, a small charcoal grill for me, and a propane grill when i have people over, and time is an issue.

As far as POLES go, this is the only time poles are important:-D
