I am looking to buy a t-56 tranny tomorrow that's said to be in good working order pulled from a 03 cobra he is going auto. What/how am I to look over the tranny to make sure everything checks out? And isn't broken? It's not in the car.
I went the magnum route and will never look back. Sold my t56 for it. 2800 to my door. Money well spent IMO. I don't have any knowledge on rebuilds so I can't help you out there. But let's say the used tranny you're buying is 1200, you rebuild it for another 800, 300 for the 28 spline input shaft, etc. I would just go with the magnum. Hope I could help!
