Ahh the good old blown 3800 Series 2. Too bad Gm has such shitty flowing heads on that engine or it would make some serious power.

GM heads flow better then fords by far... but true push rods do suck.. and high power car with FWD is not a good combination for racing.

Maybe so but with some decent heads the engine would push 300 horsepower easily on stock boost.

I owned a Supra before my Cobra so sit the **** down. is that enough backing up for you? Car weighed 3480 with my mods. so you own one person not two :loser:

Um... I would think 3/4 throttle would be more detrimental to his new motor than going WOT. Factory computers are designed to run at 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio in open loop operation (part throttle). At 3/4, he's still putting a pretty good load on the engine and 14.7:1 is frickin lean on a boosted car. Unless he has some way to tune fuel under part throttle or he's running race gas, I would think he's just asking for detonation.

he's running a safe tune

The guy at tuner shop who built the motor dynoed the car at ~370hp on a VERY hot and humid day. He tuned the car to run a little rich until a new maf is picked up. Then they will see what he can do with forged internals under 11psi.
