Stock Air Box and MAF Sensor Gap

Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a gasket between the two? I'm trying to install the stock air box and have a gap. See pictures. The Ford dealer tells me it looks like there is a screen in the parts diagram but has been discontinued.

There is a screen before the MAF in the stock setup.

there is a screen, but that gap looks to be bigger than what I recall. I have my stock setup at home and will check it out

Turns out the screen is the gasket and Ford discontinued it. I found one on EBay and ordered it.

I was going to dig mine out but it was buried deeper then I felt like looking. The few pictures I found online showed it had a rubber gasket around it.

I just put a stock intake back on my 2001 and noticed the same thing and couldn't find a gasket. Do you have a link to the ebay listing or a part number to search for?

Search for 2r3z9e931aa on EBay Motors. It should bring up 2.

sounds like you should be all set - the rubber gasket part of the screen is pretty thick. when i first saw your pic it looked wider than i remembered but i checked mine and its the same. best of luck with it! :beer:
