I just had another thought...

The outer splines and CVs are going to take a real whoopin with a high torque sticky tired car...

You might want to do DSS level 5s and the Billetflow IRS cover brace...

To avoid this-->

What happened there? Was there a wheel-hop problem? Did the half shaft fail causing the diff rear cover failure? What a mess!

1995COBRA-R -- What kind of power do you make in the '65 car? Just curious.

not lifting when it hops does that.

Yea and sticky tire, high rev, high torque launchs...

You may be ok with this application... but damn that cover is thin!!! and the flexing and twisting forces from the tires in cornering may replicate the forces(or come close) that the "destructo launch" did... :shrug:

The CVs blew all apart after the cover broke and the diff moved around... :xpl: :nonono:

Does anyone make outer cv boots for us yet??? :shrug:

Dave,
I don't have a clue. It's an iron block/iron head "period correct" engine. Most of the money went into the bottom end and valve train. It pulls nicely from 2000rpm to 7000rpm.

I think the "power band" is more important than the "peak power".

We also run a lot of endurance races. I beat big HP cars all the time as they usually break before the checkered flag.
