Small or Large Ice Cubes???

OK, so the g/f and I were having this really pointless discussion the other night over some drinks and it turned into a small fight.

What is your preference on ice cube size?

a) Small like at Sonic?

b) Medium like baby ice cubes?

c) The large cubes from the 'fill it yourself" ice cube trays?

d) Crushed Ice cubes?

The way I see it, the smaller the cubes, the faster your drink gets cold due to the higher amount of surface area for the heat-transfer process to occur, but the ice tends to melt a little faster.

The larger the cubes, the longer the drink will stay cold, but takes longer to cool down.

Also, I chew ice like a pregnant woman so I prefer the smaller cubes or crushed ice.

It wasn't like a "Pack up your crap and get out fight". Was more like a "we're both pretty drunk and not understanding what the other is trying to convey" fight. It probably went on for 10 mins. Like a heated discussion.

i hate crushed/small ice. can't drink out of a glass without a mouth full of ice. i like larger ice.

Depends on what I'm trying to accomplish with the ice. If I want some shit to be cold faster, I'll do crushed ice. That's if I don't just put the drink in the freezer. If I want to nurse a drink for a while, I'll use big cubes. Common sense no?

More common sense would be to give the warm drink with large ice a spin or mix the ice around with a straw to make it cold:idea:

I like big ice cubes because when I'm drinking something with ice in it I don't like drinking the ice. Small ice cubes make it hard to drink "just the drink", if that makes any sense. I wouldn't want them going up the straw either, I hate when that happens. Ice cube tray ice FTW

I prefer no ice if the drink is cold before hand. If it's not cold before hand then it really doesn't matter to me as long as it does its job.

if i'm having a drink with ice, then crushed in anything that isn't liquor. but i always drink everything warm unless i'm going out to eat/getting fast food or having a nice glass of vodka straight. ice just gets in the way and wastes precious drink space otherwise.
