Hm. Interesting.
I agree with what you’re saying. The friend that says 187k is dead wrong but if we’re in the middle of conversation I know what he means.
Hm. Interesting.
Some people believe it’s high 6 figure when $180/190k and it’s a low 6 figure when it’s $110/120k.Except it's not relative. $1mil a year is $1mil a year any where in the country.
Same with $20k a year.
We're not talking about buying power, etc.. Just the number itself. $175k a year is a healthy living the vast majority of the country, but not even in Somalia is it high six figure income.

If $195k is a high 6 figure income is $201k a low 6 figure income? After all 01 is a lot lower than 95...
Join the ****in club budTell me about it. We broke into the next tax tier last year by a couple dollars and the IRS broke it off into my ass big time
Literally in the name.... six figures, so $100k or more. Then there are "ranges".
6 figures $100k
Mid 6 figures $150k
High 6 figures $175+
These are all 6 figures, even if you don't know anyone in that range.Literally in the name.... six figures, so $100k or more. Then there are "ranges".
6 figures $100k
Mid 6 figures $150k
High 6 figures $175+
$200k 300k 500K, I don't know what the lingo is since I don't know anyone in that range.
I'm guessing you make minimum wage.Literally in the name.... six figures, so $100k or more. Then there are "ranges".

Why? Honest question Todd. His profile says "Process Engineer."I'm guessing you make minimum wage.
Think of it like quarter mile times.
.1-.3 is low
.4-.6 is mid
.7-.9 is high.
of course you could break it down 2 more steps but that's close enough.
Regardless of where one lives and what they make $120k is barely six figures and way under when taxes are taken out.I wasn’t referring to buying power. It all has to be relative. If I make 20k a year and someone makes 100k I’d venture to say they would think that’s high 6 figures. Someone who makes 200k a year is not going to say 300k is high six figures.
If you make under 120k and live in the Bay Area you are considered at the poverty level. Therefore, someone that lives in the Bay Area is going to have a skewed idea of what a high Six figure income.
I know personally that at 175k a year in the Bay Area you’re barley making it
So Hunter’s $600k+ job consulting in Ukraine with no knowledge or experience is high or low 6 figures?
