Since there was an lighting thread I thought I would ask about garage heat. This year I bought a "the hot one" cadet heater on clearance. It's is the 5000 watt model. And I use an extension cord to move it around to where I am working. (It's 240 30 amp plug in)
I was hoping it would be better and easier to use than the old kerosene ones I have used in the past. (I don't know how or when kerosene became so damn expensive as it use to cost about in line with gasoline prices but now it's about $8-$10 a gallon)
So far I'm not very impressed with the "hot one". It needs to be running for a long time before things warm up in the garage. (40+ min) Where as the kerosene heaters always warmed things up quick. (Pic of my 2 kerosene heaters on here to show what I was using)
My garage is pretty large (1000sq ft 4 car with 10 ft ceilings), and is mildly insulated.
I am thinking to get a wall mount type or still something Electric as I have a 50 amp service for a welder that I can plug into.
What do you guys have????View attachment 1681076
