So here is my queston are 2011's 5.0 to 2015 5.0 to be feared especially being a 3v with a blower? I was looking to get some runs in with a buddy of mine who has a 5.0 with a tune. Obviously I know the 5.0s are formidable but could a 3v with a 2.6l kenne pushing 440 hold its own?

Flame suit on!!!!

It's gonna be close.

Better gearing from the 6spd will put you back. It'll be a close race but from a roll you might edge him on the first run, any past that and heat soak will take its toll.

You should win easily having about 100 more rwhp

100 more rwhp? I guess you have been under a rock since mid-2010, as a bolt-on/tune 5.0 could be running anywhere from 400-460 rwhp depending on bolt-ons, who tuned it, and how happy the dyno is. For the OP I would think it would be a driver's race.

If he has boss intake, you dont have a chance. If not, then you got him easily.

Average bolt-on + tune 5.0's make between 405-425hp to the tires. If the car is a 3.73 equipped car with a 6 spd, I'd have to give the edge to the 5.0. The gearing is just so much better than previous mustangs.

If you really have 440 to the wheels you should be fine. I got 424 rwhp and I destroy most coyote 5.0s. The only one I ever lost to had a turbo and a 75 shot.

I have a 3V, I can tell you that 3V owns will need to start looking over their shoulders for 2015 EcoBoost Mustangs.

5.0s aren't that fast. My old man put a couple train lengths on one.........with a basic bolt-on(CAI, canned tune, exhaust) C6 Z06 mod

It depends on the car's set up and driver mod as to how well the car will perform. Power enablers, suspension, good tires, good tune, some weight reduction and a good driver make for a good race. Take one or more away from the equation you win.

I raced an 07 Roush with a blower and from a roll, 40-130, I had put probably ~2 cars on him. My only mods are x-pipe and tune and its a 6 speed 3.73 car, the roush was a 5 speed 3.55 car.

where does it say bolt on? just tuned, which probably means a canned one at that..but your right just a tune 5.0 so maybe 60 difference not 100 my bad..:bash: full bolt on he may have a problem.
