What would you guys say is the sweet spot for our Cobra's. I know with my old GT, I could look at the rpm level to decide what gear to be in when going from a roll, but the Cobra has a different "spot" to make the most of it.

I guess what I'm asking is what rpm range would you want to be in when hitting it from a roll.

Thanks!

I used to pick right around 4500. Once you get to 500+rwhp you can pretty much choose a number. LOL!

My favorite is 3700rpm in 1st gear.
SH*T LOADS OF TORQUE AND THE BEGINNING OF A ROLLERCOASTER Horsepower BAND..

Thats my favorite gear/rpm to give people a ride in. Thats what I call the "whiplash 1st gear punch". lol
Before my nittos it was 4200rpm in 2nd gear.
But with my wheel hop situation cured its the new 3700rpm in 1st.

GOD I LOVE THIS CAR..

My favorites:

1st from 3500-6200
2nd from 3200-6200
3rd from 3800-6200

I get pretty much the same reaction from all of those: grin from ear to ear :-D

Hank, you wouldn't know a sweet spot if it kissed you on the pecker head...

Scott, I saw your sweet spot in the Kenne Bell video.
I think the KB's sweet spot was better than yours.. :cryying:

Maybe this might help as I've found this to be quite useful:

From a roll, don't use RPM's use gears:

20 MPH: 1st Gear
30 MPH: 1st Gear
40 MPH: 2nd Gear
50 MPH: 2nd Gear
60 MPH: 3rd Gear
70 MPH: 3rd Gear
80 MPH: 4th Gear
90 MPH: 4th Gear
100 MPH: 4th Gear
100 MPH: 4th Gear
110 MPH: 4th Gear
120 MPH: 5th Gear
130+ MPH: 5th Gear

Anybody else who says otherwise on here just ain't hitting the torque band right.

I disagree with the above.

60mph in 3rd = death..... 3rd takes wayyyyy too long starting at 60.
80mph in 4th = death..... Same situation as mentioned above, 3rd is better
90mph in 4th = decent.... but 3rd is better.

Try it. I'm telling you I've NEVER lost a run from a roll. EVER. Although they seem low, you're in gear so you don't spend time shifting. I've waxed more 600-700 cc bikes, imports, vettes, and other Cobras from an 80 MPH roll in 4th than any other gear. It's right where the torque is at its peak and HP is nearing peak. :D

If you cant shift worth crap, then yes I agree its better to stay in gear longer like you mentioned.
