Reenlistment

Well, my reenlistment journey has been long and taken many different turns. I was ultimately disappointed that I wouldn't be able to reup for an mos that I really wanted, and was ready to settle for something that I really had no interest in just to stay in the army. Then I stumbled across 68F. It's a physical therapist specialist. It instantly grabbed my attention. I like working with people, and if I can help them in any way it's always a plus for me. I really wanted to stay in the MI field, but it just doesn't look like it's gonna happen for me. Does anybody have experience with this MOS?

The universe has spoken. A day after starting the paperwork, the in/out calls changed and the MOS was no longer available to me...

Check out 13R...MOS keeps expanding and will only get bigger. We are actually short certain ranks. I get looked at for 7 Next year and hopefully make it at 7 1/2 yrs TIS

Just picked up SGT last month and unfortunately it cut my options a lot. I have the current in/out call and it says 13R is a no go. My options are the following...

12P
18B, C, D, E
31D
35L
35P (iI'm already a 35P, but can opt for another language.)
37F
38B
68V
91C
94T

31D would be pretty cool. I looked into it but if your a SSG with over 2yrs (I think 2) TIG they wont take you so Im out of that.

Apparently all reenlistment is cancelled unless it's under option 1 or 2... My retention NCO said it should only be till the government decides to start working again...FML

Yep and option 1 and 2 are not guaranteed. The army is gonna cut more on top of the govt issues so take it while you can. I went indef a few months back. Luckily I'm going to be a recruiter and all this crap isn't messing with my school date and pcs.

I was going to do 35Q but they only have a 40% pass rate

So I figured I'd do a stabilization reenlistment and put in my 35L packet

Well scratch that last thought boys, I didn't pass my last DLPT and as a result can't do a stabilization reenlistment. I HAVE to reenlist under option 3 now. The only problem is that I have like 2 choices...SF or relanguage...looks like I might be going back to Monterey for Farsi

EDIT: I just saw that 91C is available. Utilities Equipment Repairer. Nothing fancy, and I can't see keeping my clearance with this job, but I can make a nice living turning wrenches. Anybody in this field?

91C? LOL!!! know what i do with 91Cs? i put them in the bay with the rest of my wheel mechanics. they never get to do their job. iv had 3 91Cs and all of them worked on wheel vehicles and didnt know jack shit about their actual job.

That's fine with me, I love turning wrenches lol. I'm only doing this so that I can reenlist and drop my 35L packet

Wow, shit changes fast lol. I was just told by mt reenlistment NCO that I can no longer reenlist under option 3, but I can still do a stabilization reenlistment. Hopefully I'll be signed by the end of the month. After that...35L packet

303rd MI Bn, currently deployed to Afghanistan. If you can get a language like Farsi, do it. I would love to do another year at DLI. I could do advanced course (Arabic here) but I want a strategic assignment.

I had the option for Farsi, but I really struggled with Russian. It sucked putting in what seemed like an endless amount of hours after class and still not being nearly as good as the guy who never studied and showed up 10 min before class to do his homework lol. I'm just gonna cross my fingers and put in for 35L
