Recommendations for places to stay in either Aruba or Turks and Caicos?

My girlfriend and I are planning a vacation this summer. Looking to go away for a week. We are between Aruba or Turks and Caicos.

I've been to Aruba only once, and went with my family 4 years ago. She's never been and neither of us have been to Turks and Caicos.

Any recommendations for hotels in either or? Or which destination do you like better?

I went to Turks a few years ago. We went to a beaches resort which was nice but we stayed there almost the whole time. The island is basically a sand pit and nothing special island wise. The beaches and water were really nice though.

I've heard Aruba is a great island to explore.

skip it. go st thomas or st martin, much better islands.
