anybody have the part number for the 1330 yoke/companion flange that attaches to the rear of the driveshaft?

i had an irs differential built up, but unfortunately did it with the smaller 3.500 inch bolt circle pinion flange, so it won't bolt up to my 03/04 driveshaft.

i would rather change out the driveshaft yoke/flange than the pinion flange. i realize that i will have to use a hybrid 1330/1350 u joint

thanks for any info

you have the smaller 99-01 cobra 1330 pinion flange?? because that first part number is the number for it.

The second number is for the larger terminator flange.

So what are you looking for again?? the hybrid u-joint? I'm bored..

ohh that flange..
I'll race you..

yeah my diff has the smaller flange on it, and i want to mate it up my 03/04 driveshaft.

so i need the part that goes in between them - i think it is called the companion flange or the yoke flange. i will use a 1330/1350 ujoint with it. (precision 448)

yeah thanks man, i had seen that dana/spicer #2-2-949 and it seems to be readily available. prices are all over the place on this part lol!

i have two ford part numbers too, but i'm not 100% sure. if anyone can confirm i would appreciate it. i have a feeling one of them may be for the larger 4.25" bc flange however.

here is spicers book ..watch close to pilot size and m/f

but dealer will be half the price even if you pay list...for the flange..

try dennys driveshafts..his site has a pic of all the yokes next to each other with discription....

i just clicked that link that went to dennys...notice how his prices are double...

ford will have all those flanges in stock and they also have the 1330-1350 conversion joint oem ......that conversion joint was used alot..1330 is a common size that was used on dodge and chevy...they used conversion joint to fit there stuff..

cool man thanks

the only difference i notice between the 1330 series 2-2-949 and 1350 series 3-2-1579 (4.25 bc) is the drilled hole diameter which i am thinking will not be an issue for the factory driveshaft bolts: the 1330 is .484 drilled and the 1350 is .500 drilled. everything else is exactly the same

spicer has that hybrid joint as number 5-460x or federal mogul precision has it as precision 448

here is spicers price list...2-2-949 list 177.90...at ford just guessing 25 bucks..its been awhile...

http://spicerparts.com/sites/default/files/pdf/ds_jk307-l_1-1-2012.pdf

so your driveshaft now is 1350 yes?

pinion flange has same pilot but smaller bolt hole circle?

if yes its best to just switch pinion...the cross over joint will cost more than the flange...

wow $178! i talked to a driveline shop down the street, he has in stock for $45

yes 1350 driveshaft, and the smaller pinion flange is on the diff and in the car. 2.00inch female pilot. i was leaning towards swapping pinion flanges, but i really don't have the tools i need to do it (in garage, no air, on my back) so this solution seems a heck of a lot easier for the short term

and yeah i bought the larger pinion flange from tousley after building the diff, $16.50... so this mistake sure is costing me lol. anyway, thanks alot for all the info!

look again 3-2-1579...wrong bolt hole circle/wrong pilot/ . at end of part number says discontinued...see notes..

start from left side of page when searching yokes...

now look at neapco

http://www.neapco.com/pdf/2009_Driveline_Catalog_DS245_9901153.pdf

than the fun part...there are yokes not listed...oem item only..

we would buy the shafts from tow truck drivers junking cars...which we than found that ford has flanges to more of less swap them all around...

you would need to go to a driveshaft shop thats real...they should charge you 20 bucks tops on used yoke...

man its funny how the prices are all over the place on these

i dont think the neapco n2-2-939 is good for my application because the face-to-face width is only 3.469" (1310 series) compared to 3.875" on the 1330/1350 series, so i would need to go with the spicer 2-2-949

i may bring my driveshaft down to this shop and tell him what i'm trying to do just to be sure

edit: the ujoint is 3.625 square so the 3.469" wont work i dont think

yup the only reason i mentioned the 3-2-1579 is because i think that is oem stock for the 03/04 cobra

and the 2-2-949 has exactly all of the same dimensions with the exception of the bolt hole dia.

that pinion yoke is very easy to swap....really very easy...if it was setup right the pinion flange should just slide off with a slight tap if needed...

i had mine rebuilt but flange got damaged ,,causing viberation...

i had used all hand tools and just snugged it with holding flange with hand..just dont over tighten

i have a dirt driveway and homemade drive on ramps..

flange/ujoint/balance will be 1/2 the price of a new custom...
