A good friend of mine had two of them. One was a street car that needed to be restored but was a running and driving car that he drove around all the time. The other was an NHRA Stock Eliminator car.

I think overall numbers are still down compared to the past (and definitely compared to the 70s), but there is more media attention and certainly a few high profile accidents recently that makes things sound worse.
PSR doesn’t help though. Hunter Harrison was a giant ****ing douche.
On that note, if anyone is looking for a buy low sell high stock option, Norfolk Southern is on the verge of a takeover. They’ll sell-off and gut the railroad to the bare bones to drive down the operating ratio, in turn driving stock prices up.
Bad drivers. Steered train wrong.
