I'm not sure there are any dedicated hi-fi stores anymore like there used to be. Probably Best Buy is one of the few places to find components on display. I still rock old school with a Yamaha receiver and Marantz CD player and JBL speakers and sub-woofer. I also have a Harman Kardon receiver that I hooked up to the tv. I believe Harman doesn't even make components anymore. I'm looking to get a turntable in the next few months. Now THAT is a unique and awesome garage setup. Definitely took me back to the '70s when I was into hi-fi gear like that. Visiting my component store in New Haven (long gone now) was like visiting an audiophile heaven. When sitting in a listening/demo room, I never wanted to leave. LOL.
i can appreciate the engineering that goes into them but agreed. Even if they were cheap AF I wouldnt have any interest in oneThose watches are stupid.

I'm shopping for a whole new system. The sound bar and satellite speakers just don't cut it for me. If I replace the sound bar system with a proper hi fi system, not only will I get proper sound during movies, but I'll also enjoy listening to music again.
I had a nice setup in the old house. B&K receiver, MK speakers blah blah blah, but the display went out in it and the wife didn't want a big bulky receiver in the living room. So that system is now in the garage.
Been looking at a Yamaha receiver. Not sure what speakers to get.
I have two Klipsch R-112SW's I'm wanting to replace with some SVS subs. Which did you go with?Ive been pretty happy with my SVS stuff, I bought everything from their outlet on holiday sales. Might be a tad more $ than some others but the 5 year warranty is nice, customer service is excellent and you've got a free trial window where you can return it for a refund or get full credit towards an upgrade.

Lol, when I was a kid, I had a friend that could play that game endlessly. He'd have so many ships, he'd just walk away after playing for an hour or 2.
