My 97 Cobra Coupe currently has 4.10 gears and a 23 tooth speedo gear installed by a previous owner. I am not happy with the accuracy and when I recently pulled the gear out most of the teeth were gone anyway. So I want to go back to a stock speedo gear and do either of following:

1) Use a Dallas Mustang SpeedCall.

2) Use an SCT Tuner to correct it.

What is the most accurate of the two options above? I was just going to do the DM SpeedCal but noticed that some places like American Muscle actually add the SCT into their kits for correction. So I guess an SCT tuner can give you same speedo correction as a SpeedCal? Plus the SCT would let me clear codes and improve performance too?

Last Question: The stock speedo tooth gear is 18, correct?
