question about thermostat

idk if this is the right thread... but im going to put a new thermostat in my cobra... its got an 03 motor built if that makes a difference.. but i wasnt sure if putting a 160 or 180 in. which would be better? i was told to do 160 but will that do any harm or anything to it different?:shrug:

I would advise to run the 180º. The 160º can sometimes cause the car to run in open loop as the programming in the computer is set to switch to closed loop after the car is warmed up. The 160 can prevent the car from reaching this pre-set temp.

Atleast, thats how it is with 5.0 cars.
