Hey my friend has a 96cobra that the motor let go in it. It has a hole in the block but anyhow my question is, Will the 99/01 cobra motor work in it or would it be better off going back with a 96-98cobra motor. Also what would be a good price for a used Motor from a cobra? thanks alot

Tell him to look for an engine from a 5-speed Mach1. They can be had cheap if you really look around, or go on Keithcraft.com.

Yes, the 99/01 Cobra motor will work, it's not a direct replacement but this swap has been done numerous times and there is a lot of information available on how to do it.

Automatic trans Mach, Aviator and Marauder engines have a cast crank and the same cams and heads. The manual trans Mach motor has a forged crank but the same crappy rods and pistons that the all the other 4V non-supercharged engines have.

karkraft.com has complete engines, I don't believe Keith Craft has take-out 4V modulars.
