quarter window

for those of you that put the quarter louver on....does it hit any part of the car or fit over the window only?...i have seen some around but no-one i know has them on and i know they are "taped' to the widow but want to be sure they dont hit any part of my paint.:shrug:

I bought some from MRT and they stick to the glass, but have alittle clearance from the body, I'd say just over an 1/8 all the way around, they are similar to the Ford ones you can order..

I have the roush ones and part of the bracket tapes to the paint.

I have the Shelby SS ones, and they tape to the window, but the "flange" of the caver sits on the paint around the window.

I went with the painted set from American Muscle. They are larger and stick to the paint. I like the look of the larger ones. Just yesterday I finished installing my MRT rear aluminum louvers also painted (Kona). The quarter window and rear window louvers go nicely together.

Finished the install and shot some pictures today. I still plan on running the over-the-top stripes and my pinstripes down each slat of the louvers, but here they are as is now: (I actually don't know how to upload pics on this site so this is a link to my fordgt500.com thread.)

Are the inserts in your louvers removable, like for painting black? or are they made as part of the louver and they have to be taped off?
