I have a few questions for you experts!

1) my car has 107,000 miles on it, what kind of maintanence should I get done right away?

2) whats the normal idle for a cobra? rpms?

3) does the temp gage move alot on your cars when you accelerate?

thanks :coolman:

Oh by the way its a 96 triple black convertable, and my first mustang!
weekend car of course~

Congrats on the car cookie man! That's awesome!

Few quick answers for you.

1) Oil change should be obvious, as well as plugs and possiably wires. If yur really wanting to go gung ho, you could also change coolant, and possiably tranny fluid. Check the brakes and possiably replace them if they look thin. As far are regular maintenence, that seems like it would be pretty good to go.

2) Prolly around 6-700 after then engine is warm. A little over 1K on a cold start.

3) Never noticed the temp gauge to move during accel. Is it frantic, or just a little? I know that the 96's are known to get warmer then then 97s and 98s because of the cooling upgrade. Maybe I just don't focus on the temp during accel, but I've never noticed such a problem.

Hope that helps, and congrats on the car again!

unless it was done before i would suggest cleaning the imrc's (thats the little flaps that open inside the intake runners) and running some sea foam through the motor. it should run like new (or pretty close to it).

Congrats on the car!

I'd personally wanna get the timing belt changed, UNLESS you have record of the last time that were done.

:poke: :poke: :poke:

Timing belt?

You're kidding, right?

You're not? :dw:

Nevermind... used to working with smaller engines. :bash: forgot the 4.6 has a timing chain and not a belt.

Guess that once you have one snap on you, it goes to the top of the list without thinkin

sorry guys :burn:
