I told my brother I’d ask the SVTP faithful.
He has an original Terminator motor, currently with what is likely a ring issue.
It still ran and he stopped making passes only because the smoking was getting worse.
He bought it out of an interior fire convertible and swapped it into his ‘86 GT back in ‘05-06. Its gone from Eaton only, Eaton/spray, custom single turbo running a best of 9.001.
It’s 100% stock, the valve covers to oil pan have never been off.
1) What would you say it’s worth as is?
2) What is quality rebuilt Terminator longblock worth?
He was thinking of just having it freshened by one of our quality engine builders.
We also have a set of new Ford GT/‘13-14 GT500 cams/springs and a set of Fox Lake ported heads quoted $1200 to rebuild at machine shop.
He’s wanting to move it but neither of us know the market 1) as it sits and 2) with a basic quality refresh.
Any help appreciated.

To clarify he’d like to sell it with stock intake/intercooler brick. So longblock including lower intake. All Eaton parts long gone. So stock oil pan to stock lower intake with cooler brick.

He was going to double check but I believe it does yes. Didn’t they have a blue paint swab on them?
Any other input?

Blue paint stripe isn’t definite. Have to grab the part number.

That’s really the only thing that would cause any sort of price adjustment.

I’d list it up whole since that’s easier and then may need to part it out.

Good heads go for 750-900

Cranks I’ve seen around 800.

Rods meh because most upgrade if they open it up. Maybe 400.

IC brick 350-400.

Block 250 or so.

Since it needs a rebuild it’s really only worth spare parts value.

Whole thing maybe 2500?

A good usable long block is usually in the 4500 range.

There’s a used longblock for sale on eBay now for 6 grand. Supposedly in good working order. There’s also a shortblock on there from the same seller for 3 grand. Probably cost anywhere from 5~10 grand for a rebuild depending on who’s doing the work and what’s being done.
