isn't a GT500 limited too? fastest i have ever been in my dads with him driving was about 140ish on I4 and it still had plenty of rpm left in it. i imagine they too are limited to 155 just like the 03/04 cobra's wouldn't they :shrug:

Yeah, 155 w/ a stock tune. BUT, who's got a stock tuned GT500?
my dad.......:bored: only mod is a K&N drop in filter........he is like that with all his cars, wants them stock so that way they keep there value (thats what he claims) his shelby doesn't even have 1,000 miles on it yet and still has the factory oil in it aswell. its a 2007 btw

That's the thing...it's pretty much impossible to have a GT500 or M6 that has a stock tune with the speed limiter disabled. If you can disable the limiter, you can tune it.
About the only car I know of without a speed limiter is the SRT8 Challengers. They're supposed to hit 170 even though they weigh two tons and have a bad drag coefficient.

I smacked an a newer M5 with my old 03 Cobra vert with an upper only and normal bolt ons. It's my buddies car and we just did a stop light to stop light run. He was stunned that I pulled on him like that.
Car below with intake/exhaust....2 in my car, 1 in his. 5mph roll, I beat him by 2 to the top of third. You should have no problem.

The M6 runs 12.3-12.4 bone stock the 2010 GT 500 has run 11.95-12.01 bone stock. A member here ran the 12.01.

Why are you doing so much explaining to them? I don't educate people about my 04 Cobra with documented data, I drag their azz down the road! Go ahead and run his race and beat him, so there's no excuse unless you feel you can only beat him at the track. If you feel you can beat him in either situation then stop stalling and make it happen:rockon:. Nothing like beating him at the race he chose. That will shut all of them up and I'm sure that's what you want to do anyway.
I had a guy with a C6 Vette talking about what he'd do to my Cobra (a lot of people don't realize Ford put superchargers in the 03/04, they think it's like the 99/01). I kept laughing and told him I could show him better than I could tell him. Well the end result is him getting drug down the road twice and me giving him pointers on how to properly launch his car from a dig:lol:. He said he'd never been beat like that and asked if I had NOS lol. He asked me if all Cobra were that fast lol. I told him mine is average for our cars, TS and Turbo guys will really do some damage. I ran into him at McDonald's months later and he said he told his wife he wants a Cobra LMAO.
Moral of the story is, I don't waste time trying to educate folks who think they know it all, I just politely show them what my car can do when we line up. Too much talking may scare them away and I'd rather run them away:burnout:

Yeah I just read that a British auto mag the M6 from one mile dig and it ran 162 [l155mph limiter removed] an member here ran his stock 2010 [155mph limiter removed] ran 168 in Texas mile per Gps.
