Can bad alignment do this to rear tires? One of my rear tires separated like that about a month ago, but it may have been caused by a partial flat. I found a piece of a scissor stuck in it afterwards :dw:

No it went flat, I'm gonna guess due to some scissor insertion, and the rim cut the tire apart like a giant pizza cutter.

P.S Are those the new Sumis?

I had the same thing happen to me twice on my cobra 2 different sets of Eagle F1's I think it is the soft tire compounds we are using they just dont hold up like other compounds.

You already stated the biggest problem. The tires were 2 years old and they were Goodyears(good4ayear) tires. Seriously though, aligment and the semi flat is more than likely the cause, the crappy GYs is just icing on the cake.
