So i was getting tired of the silver wheels and thought i would paint them black. I seen plasti dip on fourms and how people say its can be removed easily and is only $6 a can. So i thought what the hell and gave it a shot. So yesterday i cleaned the wheels good with soap and water and sprayed them up. I used 4 can which did 2-3 coats on the inner wheel and 4-5 coats on the face of the wheel. I thinks the semi gloss black looks perfect. anyways here are a couple pics before and after.

Looks awesome man. Huge improvement. I did my extra wheels with my drag radials with plastidip a few nights ago. Super easy.

it's real durable. I had it on my summer wheels and It went through many car washings. Also it was said to come off easy and I did 3 heavy coats per wheel and it still was a bitch to come off in some spots.

Don't put tire shine on the plastidip or else it will mess it up.

I originally put plastidip on my wheels to see what they looked like in black, got some tire shine on the plastidip and it melted right off.

Repainted mine in John Deere blitz black.

I did my drag setup so it would closely match my existing wheels and looks really good. I was surprised how easy it was.

Is there a way to make them a little more glossy? I'm not feelin the dull finish..do they make a Plasti Dip clear?

So the plasti dip hasnt came off at the drag strip? I have black track pack wheels and silver drag wheels and want them to match the fronts at the drags. I will try it if you did:beer:

Yea I'm not feeling the plasti dip. I tried it and hated it so I just got them powdercoated. I was going to powdercoat my drag wheels but the track was open and didn't want to wait so I may just plasti dip them anyway.

Not feeling it.

Me neither, I think the silver looks way better imo. The black makes it look like someone stole your wheels and you threw on a set of spray painted junk yard spares. But that's me and I'm old, we used to think Cragar SS/T's were cool.
