Picture taking Guru's, how do you take great pics?

Ken says to leave your ISO, White balance and a few other setting in automatic if you can. Using his techniques as a guideline have helped my pics improve recently.

I have my ISO set as low as possible depending on the time of day and light I have at my disposal, since I dont have strobes. Theres almost nothing worse than a grainy picture in low light so if the subject isnt moving and you have tripod, set the ISO as low as possible and bump up the number for your shutter speed or lower your aperture or a little of both.

A couple of pics of a recent shoot I did for a friend. I hadnt picked up the camera in about 6 months and decided I needed to get back at it. All done with natural lighting. No strobes or flash.

Took this in Bemidji MN, May 2011

Shutter @ 1/4000 with an f1.8 and still didnt get a still shot, but its close. These little buggers are fast!
