347 stroker SOLID roller
.650 lift cam
C4 3 speed w/reverse
4.10's
8 pt cage
Custom fabricated intake
10 gallon cell
sub frames
31 spline
5 lug
automatic fans
...and more

No a/c, no heat, no power steering, just all car. The old man down the street called my red '97 turbo Supra a "A lady in a red dress". He calls this one, "A red headed slut".

Setup for drag strip currently. The long term goal is to change trans, hood, and suspension setup to make it a 2 mile track car for Summit Point.

Nice! I would throw a set of welds on it for now. What did something like that run if you don't mind me asking?

Doesn't look like it's really drag strip ready at all. What does the cam look like, what converter, what anti roll bar, didn't even see camber plates. I assume it has adjustable shocks and an adjustable strut?

Whats the engine combo? I'd put a tko in it with a good clutch and enjoy it on the street.

Cool car. Sure does sit low in the rear.
Actually know Patrick that made that upper intake. Don't live too far from him here in NC. Bought a 89 LX vert(not the one I have now) from his brother back in 1995.

Nothing sounds better or revs better then a solid cam.

What a Bad ass car !

Thanks, in person it sounds so badass. The vid does not do justice.

Yeah, welds will be for the strip. Sent you a PM.

Long term it will be a road course car that I trailer, so everything will change.

I'll stop now. Stay out of my thread. Thanks in advance

Love the notch. Change the wheels too please.

Thanks, been looking for another red notch like I had in college, finally found one with no rust. Welds for the strip, will probably have an extra set of Roush wheels I have painted to go on it.

I'd like some xxr 521's like the other guy with the black notch on here has at some point.

Thanks! I posted the fabricated intake hoping someone would recognize the name! COOL! He still making them?

I'm in love!!! Me personally, I wouldn't change a damn thing besides putting a set of drag wheels for the track(Billet Specialties). I'm still trying to get my coupe done but I have to many projects going on at once. But, this video just got me more motivated.

Better change that lower intake.

Can you elaborate? Do they warp that I don't know of?

Damn that thing revs quick!

Yes it does, I love it! Thanks!

Nice ride man!! LOVE coupes!! Makes me miss my old coupe bad!!

I left my old red notch down in Carrollton GA about an hour(?) from you back in '99 before I moved. GA has some CLEAN coupes.

Nice, I'm working on getting a notch soon

Thanks, good luck!

if your looking to track the car:

~the 11:1 should help out really well with keeping the power even in the heat
~lower the front a bit more and see if grabbing some koni yellows(adjustables) and a more track friendly spring setup
~tko 600 + mcloed clutch setup/adjustable quad
~hood=heat extractor if possible to help with long session heat
~4.10s toa 3.55 or 3.73 to keep you from shifting too much as summit isnt too gearing friendly
~stock gas tank or 16-18 gallon tank for track car, 10 gallon maybe too little?
~what type of differential does it have? may want to change it out for a torsen style for better turn in

i see your in the area, once you get it dialed check out VIR for some HPDE or TT events and see what times she will put down. it looks like a stout car and the motor def sounds healthy as hell. nice purchase!!!

Looks so good man. I'm actually thinking about selling my cobra for one.

Thanks, something about a notch that brought me back to one.

Thanks for the ideas. Yeah, looking at an entire suspension change for Summit Point. Thanks for specific types with brands, etc. For gearing at Summit Point, I was thinking 3.55's or 3.73's with the notch based on how the Roush performed with 3.27's, but the Roush has more top end power. I can't decide if 3.73's would be too much gear for the notch with a TKO, but the notch is a high revving (7500 rpm) engine, so maybe. I'm sure I'll end up trying both. I was wondering if the 10 gallon fuel cell would be enough for Summit Point for one session (then refuel) before each session. I love the engine! Thanks again for the ideas, I might hit you up for details when the time comes.
