I'm a Project Manager for Ring Power the largest Caterpillar dealer: Basically, I put together mechanical/electrical submittals and answer any questions pertaining to the generators and applicable switchgear.

Not at the plant, but I work at a local Deere dealership down here. I was up your way this past summer though and went through the plant.

If you work at a dealer...then you are familiar with the JDPS (I think they might have changed the name now). I used to work on that project at Deere & CO. You may also be familiar with Deere's GVC...I worked on that project also.

I kinda miss Deere. :(

You talk about 'gold mine' jobs...let me tell you...Power Generation Sales is a gold mine. These guys that sell new and used power generators clean house. The call for an independant power source is outrageous and they are completely willing to fork over the cash. I need that job. :)

I also sometimes go to school. I am on the ten year plan.

Yeah when you live at home, and mooch of your dad its not bad paying.....But if i was to live on my own, i'd be one penny pinching fool!!!!

Automation Engineer

I build automation lines for car companies.

We built an addition to the line that makes the camshafts for ALL DOHC motors. That was cool :D

Right now we are working on a line that will manufacture a tranny part for the new Ford 5 speed auto tranny (5R110W, I think). Talk about a complex part. Sheesh :shocked: :r: :D

I'm an ERP software consultant in the Health Care Field.
ERP=Enterprise Resource Planning ( I did this for two years before I knew what the hell ERP stood for!)
