you will end up with less contact patch than a 275 due to the bulge. If that doesn't bother you then go for it. My 315's on a stock rim were bald in the center and unscathed on the sides after 10k miles.

I was in the same boat as you and went ahead and did it the right way IMHO, I got the 17X10.5 replicas to fit the 315s with no spacer, but low profile MM IRS bolts...glad I did...looks sick and no tire bulge...plus nitto is the only tire in 315 that you could fit on a stock 17X9 so I wanted to have the option one day to put a 315 BFG on my 17X10.5s...Hope this helps...do a search lots of info

I've put 315 Nitto's on the stock rims along with 315 BFG's on the stock rims, both had much wider contact patches that any 275 tire on the same rim. The Nitto's didn't bulge bad at all while the BFG's have a rather noticeable bulge. I actually was curious how much more tire was getting to the ground with my old 315 Nitto's vs. a 275 so a buddy of mine and I both did a quick burnout to measure the rubber we both layed down. My 315 tire patch was considerably wider than his 275.

I dont know man, I was about to pull the trigger on 315 Nitto's on a stock rim and saw with my own eyes that a wider tire on a 275 rim doesnt have as much contact with the road.

dont cheap out, just get some 17x10.5s and be done with it.

Agreed. AM has them for $169.99/ea which includes shipping. Thats a good price.

Price 2 x 315 Nitto's shipped, mounted, and balanced on your stockers.
THEN, price out 2 x 315's mounted on 10.5's from AM with free shipping AND a SVT discount and see if the hundred bucks in change justifies the improper fitting.

What did you use to measure that?

96 stang, thanks for the pics. Do you have any spacers or anything else done to that? or just the tires?

What are these IRS bolts I read about when mounting new tires / rims?

I didn't have any spacers in those pics. I run spacers now because of my prostars, and it looks better bringing the tires out a bit closer to the fender. The IRS bolts are only needed if your tires are touching the stock IRS bolts, which won't happen with 315 nitto's on stock wheels.
