Hey everyone,

I've been a professional automotive mechanic for 5+ years now. Working at two different Subaru dealerships and one independent automotive shop. I've always done side work for close friends and relatives so at the end of last year I decided to open my own shop aimed mainly toward performance/modification but also performing regular maintenance and repair on everyday vehicles as well. Opening date was February 1st and shop has been growing ever since. I wanted to make this post to get both positive and negative feedback to help improve. I'll be periodically updating with new content. Our dealers list is growing and I'm working on getting more equipment everyday.

Here is a few customer cars so far:

2013 Boss 302
Car was completely stock before coming to the shop. First things we did where SVE Wheels with Mickey Thompson drag radials and line lock then took it to the drag strip. Car ran a best of 12.0 at 115 with a 1.50 60ft that day.

Car is now a full bolt on car with ported boss intake manifold, JLT intake, kooks longtubes, over axles pipes, corsa axle backs, bmr k member & control arms, e85 tune, Steeda rear upper and lower control arms, McLeod RXT clutch, built MT82 trans, Weld RTS wheel setup 17x4.5 front/15x10 single bead lock rears.

2015 Mustang GT TT Auto
Car was originally built by Injected Engineering. They installed a Hellion TT Kit, Fore fuel system,3000 stall convertor, etc.
Customer took car to the track and 3rd pass snapped the mounts off the top of the aluminum diff. So I installed a new Ford Performance iron diff housing. Car will be getting Viking suspension and drag wheel setup in the near future.

Turbo Foxbody Project
Customer is performing most of the work himself but need to have some fabrication work done to mount his intercooler, trim bumper to fit, cut out an exit for down pipe, and mount his TCI Outlaw shifter.
Had to extend his aftermarket tubular support to mount intercooler at the angle I wanted.

What's your labor rate? Work looks nice. The Billit needs the fenderwells welded/painted now to finish it off.

All of those customer cars came out good. Nice work. I wish your shop the best. There's always room for good shops that provide excellent work and excellent customer service. :)

Jesus, the last shop I went to was 120 an hour. Granted they mainly do work on exotics, but most shops in Jersey are 95-105 from what I've seen.

Great work, nice to see someone doing a good job for a good rate.

Thank you sir. Bigger shops have a lot more over head cost and a bigger reputation so I understand why they charge what they do. Fortunately with my setup right now I don't have much overhead so I can offer a decent rate.
