Hello

Im putting together a 4.75 stoker car with cams and head work.
Looking to go around 800HP with a turbo.

Should I just run a stock oil pump?

What adjustable came gears are good to use?

I'd run a TSS oil pump, don't trust a stock pump with stock gears on a built motor making some power.

I have a billet melling hi vol hi press one, bnib... its meant for a 2 valve, just 12 mm instead of 13 mm gears, all you need is a 2v pickup tube.. you can make the screen bigger like the 4v. New 330ish i can do 225 shipped

I actually just picked up a melling high volume for my new engine as well.

I'll be ordering comp cam adjustable gears shortly too, great price.

I used trick flow adjustable crank gears and cloyes adjustable intake gears. way cheaper than comp adjustables and will never ever slip since they're not slot style.

I wouldnt trust the comps. Use the TFS gears or Cloyes Primaries on the crank and Cloyes multiple keyway secondary gears.

I may know where you can get some clyes primary gears for a decent price.

imagine the cloyes intake adjustables looking almost just like the TFS crank adjustables. no sliding adjustments- just mult keyways in 2 degree increments. I don't have the link for them offhand but Todd does.

I found this [I'm going with all new timing components up front anyways]

Cloyes Gear 9-3174A - Cloyes Hex-A-Just Timing Sets - Overview - SummitRacing.com

http://www.cloyes.com/Portals/10/Images/Products/Cloyes Ford Mod V8.pdf

Sick deal, right? Considering I'm pretty sure the OEM kit is about the same price.

Curious, 1996-1999 and 2001-2004 are listed differently, what is the difference?

I'm assuming the crankshaft sprocket. The earlier 2 and 1 piece were designed for the early crank trigger wheel which has a thicker base than the stamped trigger wheel of late.

In the PDF file picture, the crank sprocket they show is the thicker style designed for the stamped trigger wheel. Below is a picture of the 1 piece earlier style.

That explains it, I was realllly confused for a second, haha.

Does anyone know anything about the Cloyes timing setup? I'm kinda leaning towards just picking up that whole setup...it looks pretty legit.

So the complete ideal timing gear setup would be the trick flow adjustable crank, cloyes adjustable intake(the little guy behind the primary), stock secondary, and stock primary if I'm correct? And you would need the keys for the cam gears with comp cams??
