Oil pressure issue at idle

When the car is idling, the factory oil pressure gauge on the dash drops all the to the (L) redzone. But when you tap the gas pedal or when the car starts moving, it goes back to normal. My oil pump is less that 1800miles old. Is my oil pump going out again or what is it something else?
Also while i am at it, what are the symptoms of an oil pump going bad?

I wouldn't trust the factory gauge AT ALL, it'll read normal with hardly any pressure!

It could be a sensor issue. I'm pretty sure the factory gauge is supposed to show full pressure at anything above 6psi. Get a mechanical gauge in there to see what's going on.

Thats exactly what my tuner told me. He also said that if it even reads 5psi, the gauge will show 0psi.
