The rear are 15x10 Weldstar RT wheels..if you have IRS you'll probably be safe with 6.5" backspace. The Weld RTS wheels are much cheaper than the RT wheels though, and look just as good IMO. Rear tires are 325/50/15 M/T ET Street Radials. The front wheels are 17x4 Alumastars with 2.25" backspace & M&H 185/55/17 front runners.

Don't imagine it would hurt to bump this thread...

I'm looking for a setup to put on my 95 gts, I don't want to run a spacer though on the fronts and have been thinking about running a 17x4.5. I'm having trouble finding a nice tire for this size though, any suggestions?

Can anybody confirm the best backspacing for me as well? I'm thinking 2" on the 17x4.5 fronts and 5.5 bs for 15x8 rears...

Brakes are basically the same as a cobra setup, polished mach1 calipers and 13" powerslots.

As for the rears the 15x10's would probably look better, but that's probably overkill for my application. I was also thinking that some of the classes limit your tire size to 8" or 275's or something like that.

M&H makes two different front tires for a 17x4.5 wheel, and Hoosier makes one as well. I ran M&H's 185/55/17 radial on my 17x4.5 and loved them. Most of your 17x4.5 wheels come in a 2.25" backspace which is standard for that size. For rears, you will want 15x10 with 6.5" backspace. A 8" wheel will severely limit your tire choices. Any sort of class that warrants a 275 tire or similar can be safely put on a 10" wheel.

^This is what i run on my Mach 1. 17x4.5 2.25 BS and 15x10 6.5BS.

What he said. I would definitely still go with the 10" back wheel. I run the Hoosier front on mine and I like them a little better than the m&h front simply because they have more tread on them and look to last longer. 2.25 is the correct bs for the 17x4.5 front.
