Bell’s logic is ridiculous. He feels his salary should be equal to the best running back PLUS the best receiver. The more I hear him spouting off in interviews and on twitter, the more I want him gone. $14-15 million per year on a long term deal for a RB is beyond ridiculous. I’d rather have a 3-headed monster ( say, Connor, D Lewis, and Jonathan Stewart ) in the backfield for that same $14-15 million than put it all into one RB.

Don’t get me wrong Bell is the best all around back in the league. Every game he does things that are simply amazing. But he is overvaluing himself big time IMO. Besides him, the highest paid RB is making what - like $8 million? Ugh.

you ALWAYS shoot for the moon first, then come back down to earth. especially if you are trying to market yourself as an athlete at the top. you don't low ball yourself. no athlete is going to say to themselves,"i think i'm worth 8 mil, that's what i'll ask for and i'll be happy with it". unless he injures himself, he will get his "market value" eventually.

again, if i were in his position, i would be doing the same... knowing where i stand and am perceived compared to my peers.

man, lotta moves as of late..

giants trade for ogelgtree. rams sign shields and trade for talib. eagles trade torrey smith. browns trade for tyrod taylor AND jarvis landry. richard sherman is cut. packers also trade cb damarious randall to the browns.

the browns may not go 0-16 next year depending on this draft.

there is a LOT happening.

Even though the Browns are the Browns...at least they’re shaking things up. Taylor does not impress me as a QB, but he is a big step up from what they had at that position.

I’d love it if the Steelers would trade Bell to the Browns for the first pick...but even the Browns are too smart to make that deal.

Been away for a while but this has been a pretty crazy offseason so far. I'm not terribly surprised that Miami traded away Landry. I really like him and I'm glad he's going to get paid, but he's a SLOT RECIEVER, and if you look at his career so far, you'll see that his worst season, statistically, was the year Miami made the playoffs. Landry can break HUGE plays but generally never gets more than 8-10 yards at a time. He's a safety blanket, and there is a positive correlation between him putting up big numbers and the rest of the offense looking like trash. When the TEAM is actually doing well and winning, he's not much of a factor in that.

Landry playing for the Browns means that he's going to be a great fantasy pick-up.

Nobody wants to comment on how the NFL changed the catch rule for the Super Bowl and the Eagles had at least two touchdowns that would've been called back under the "old" rule? I'm sure it'd be crickets in here if the Patriots had won.

It would have definitely called them back. And it would've given Pitt that td against NE but we can't go back and change anything so who knows how the games would've been effected. Not to mention the tons of other calls. I'm sure Dallas fans are gonna riot because of the Dez catch now lol.

I'm curious about the new lowering helmet rule. Seems to me like refs are gonna have a joy figuring out who to eject when players collide and knock each other out. It's a players instinct to lower his head and shoulder to apply a hit whether he's on offense or defense. Are players just gonna fall down before being hit and the play is whistled dead?

I'm not even saying the Patriots would've won. Just calling out all the people with Patriot Derangement Syndrome. I want them in here saying the NFL and refs rigged the SB and the Eagles are cheaters.

NFL says new catch rule was not used in Super Bowl LII

The NFL believes it did not use the new catch standard in last year’s Super Bowl. Earlier this week, NFL owners approved the proposal to change the guidelines used in league’s catch rule.

A report emerged earlier this week that the NFL had applied the new standards during Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. Two touchdown catches in particular were scrutinized – by Corey Clement and Zach Ertz.

Commissioner Roger Goodell was asked by the Globe’s Ben Volin if the league used the new rule when deciding to uphold Clement’s touchdown reception. Goodell deferred to Al Riveron, NFL senior vice president of officiating, to answer the question.

“No we did not. In order for us to overturn a call, we have to see clearly indisputable evidence,’’ said Riveron. “There was some slight movement, but we didn’t see loss of control, we didn’t see indisputable evidence that he did not have possession of the football.’’

get over it, patriots took the L... there is no magic conspiracy theory except the ones in your head. they used the "old" rules not some new rules they came up with JUST for that game.

What do you mean still? I've never said anything about it. You seriously think the NFL would come out and say oh yeah we did change the rule for the SB? Sal Pal reported Al Riveron told him they had the rule implemented for the SB. Who do you think is lying here?

Did you even read my post after the one you quoted?

how about we use a quote straight from riveron? here:

Can you read? I said in a post "I'm not even saying the Patriots would have won." I've been over this game since the clock hit 00:00. The Patriots will be back.

Imagine if the Patriots had won the game and that story came out, whether it's true or not, people would be calling for the win to be vacated. I'm calling those people out. Where are they? Why don't they care about this? We spent an entire summer talking about .2 psi that might have been missing from a football.

And the best part about this is you taking Goodell's word for it.
