I have 3 coats of Z5 and 4 of Z2 on my DSG. I wanted to try out NXT. Is it ok to put it on top or should I wash with Dawn, clay and then use NXT?

Zaino doesn't work well at all with other products. The NXT probably won't bond to the Z2 so I would recommend stripping the Zaino if you were going to try NXT.

I heard that stripping that zaino takes a while. (more than just 1 dawn wash and 1 claybar.)

As a general rule....and Juiced can confirm this....I've heard from various show car detailers that's it's not good to mix different products with each other. Some may not be compatible.

for instance putting a polymer over a carnauba...vice versa.

Idid my blk cobra with NXT this weekend...car was full of clearcoat scraches and this stuff really works miracles. I was completely frustrated thinking that it was a fact of life that the swirls and scatches were going to be there for eternity till I tried NXT.

I did my '03 Cobra last night with NXT. Having tried several brans/types of wax, I must say I was impressed. I haven't been able to get it out in the sun yet to see what it looks like, but under the flourescents, it was absolute beautiful. I looked for the swirls that had been there before and couldn't see any at all. The thing I really like is being able to do the whole car and then buff it out. Saved alot of time. I'll get it out in the morning and see how it sparkles in the sunshine.

Have any of you guys used Zaino before? I have been using Zaino for 2 years or so and I'm very satisfied. I don't mind the process either, but it doesn't get ALL the scratches out, even after several coats. This is why I was looking for something better. I guess I'll have to try it on my car to compare.

Im gonna try NXT on dark shadow gray in the next few days. STartingh detailing today but that will just be the claybar / paintcleaner / touch up paint (damn country roads dont mix with wheel wells) phase.

My car is Black, and it gets very clean and shiney, but has spots on the paint, mainly the trunk. Would the clar bar take that out?

I started with Zaino and have moved to NXT. It is easier to apply and, IMO, provides a "wetter" look to my Torch Red. I top that with Pinnacle. It's very nice!

Depends on the kind of spots you have. Are they water spots? Remains of bird droppings?

Typically, a clay bar will smooth the car out by removing the gritty residue. I've never had much success getting spots out. You may want to gently buff out the car with a mild cutting agent from 3M. Just make sure to wax over it when you're done.

Here's what I posted on some other sites about NXT after I applied it to two of my cars (the yellow Z is somebody elses) and the pictures speak for themselves.

Meguiar's NXT: 1st Impressions
So after all the forum chat about the new Meguair's wax I decided to go out and pick up some to try for myself. I Went to the local Wal-Mart and picked up the Tech Wax and Spray Wax.

For my first application I chose to use the Spray Wax on my freshly washed Z. The car was cool, having sat in the garage all evening, and local outside temp was 60F with 30 percent humidity. I started the application at 10:00 using a foam pad by hand, and finished the application at 10:20. I started removal at 10:35 using a 100% cotton towel and finished the entire car at 10:45.

Impressions on a scale of 1-10 (higher # being harder):

Ease of application -- 1

Ease of removal (after waiting 15 minutes) -- 1 (less than 1 really)

Shine, in a word brilliant -- 10 out of 10 with ten being the best. The finish is everything users have described the shine to be ie rich, deep, glossy.

Are the results better than that of --insert brand "x" here--??? Well for me to reach a definite conclusion I'll have to try it on my Sonic Blue car but it's certainly not worse than any of the products I currently have on my garage shelves to include: Zaino, Zymol, Meguiar's Gold, Auto Magic, 3M professional, Liquid Glass and Auto Glym. Where this product definitely excels above and beyond those I just noted is in the ease of application and removal. So in my mind to acheive equal results in shine at a fraction of the effort already makes this product a true winner. Two enthusiastic thumbs way up!

(Written after waxing the blue car)
Bottom line impression: Considering department/auto parts store availability; ease of application/removal; extremely deep, smooth, and shiny finish; no residue; removes light scratches and swirls; and all for a very low price makes this the best car wax/polish currently on the market period. And yes, I have tried them all.

Two thumbs way way up!!!

Wal-Mart or any good auto parts store that normally stocks Meguair's products.

one thing missing in that review is how long does it last?
I havent found Meguair's to last all that long even though it does work very well.

I just tried 3M polish for the first time, eeh, not impressed.

so far the best combo ive found is portal cable with griots garage machine polish #3 and zaino. then zaino high gloss enhancer
(BTW if your not using the gloss enhancer you really dont know what your missing)

the enhancer I think is the best product zaino makes, its makes it shine even more, gloss even more, and makes the surface more slick and have less static attraction to dust (you can tell as soon as you put it on)

so far that combination on my black cobra has hands down worked the best. guys at the dealership still cant believe it when i pull in (they think I spend days on the car because its unbelievably shiny) lol.

NXT conceals swirl marks

NXT and swirl marks?

A Meguiars specialist told me the only thing that removes swirl marks is paint cleaner or scratch remover, and a lot of work...either by hand or preferrably with a machine, like the porter cable.

He also said that NXT will help conceal swirl marks, but won't get rid of them.

I assume that after you wash your car several times, the swirl marks will re-appear (?)

NXT is still a great product...I don't think NXT was designed to remove swirl marks, but it conceals them just like the products that it is competing with.

well, I turned 3000 miles and picked up everything for my oil change and bought a bottle of the NXT. I have a friend using it tomorrow since I will be at work. I will try some out this weekend and see how I like it. It does have a money back guarantee if I want to go through the trouble of sending it back. After that I will probably try some of the zaino products and make my decision.
