Only asked because a few years ago a co-worker told one of our fuel guys NOT to put cherry in our lime-required truck over the weekend.

He came to work Monday and the tank was quite cherry-flavored.

How does all that shake out?

It’s my understanding that the operator is responsible. Some OTR trucker guys might have a better answer for you.. if they dip your tank and it’s dyed, I’m not sure what the fines are or if the company you work for is responsible.
