Don’t know where Bucks county is, but that’s more than most teachers make after 30 years.
If you’re opinion of teacher pay is based on that figure, it’s distortion from reality.
Teachers here start around 33-35.

Yea, referring to one wealthy county is not reality. He's talking about teachers with stripes in a wealthy district. I know teachers up and down the east coast and live in his neighboring county. PA is an outlier, a high paying state starting out, 42 is average starting salary here. I bet if you averaged them all out, around 60k. But, in 20 or so states the average teacher starting salary is below the poverty threshold.
