Need new tires and I have NT555r's on now and I liked them but they didn't even last the hole summer. I was thinking of buying NT05 radials. I have read that they are a good street tire and not to bad on the track. I do most of my driving on the street and would go to the track 2-3 times a summer. The only bad thing is that the 05's are a loud tire on the streets and even worst at highway speeds. If any one has gone from the 555's to the radial 05's, I would like to know what you think of them. Would you do it again or go back to the 555's?
Thanks

I have 555's on my 93 Cobra. Okay tire.

I have Nt05's all the way around on my 03. Whole different ballgame. They are not noisy either. More grip, everything is just better.

These are street tires, as I don't drag race.

Not sure if you ment drag tires or street tires.

i went from 315 555rs to 315 nt05. the nt05s are far better in every way. wet traction, low road noise, build quality and roundness, they balance better, less highway cruise vibration, shall i go on - lol? oh ya, the 315 nt05s are a fraction wider than the 315 555r's, more like "true" 315 sizing. only negative is extra cost (but far worth it imo)

I went from 555's to the 05's on the back and they hook, ride and handle very well. A friend just went from 555r's to new 05's on his KB Cobra and he likes them a lot so far, no issues.

Nitto needs to stop making the 555r and get some more 05 sizes on the market. That tire is awesome

I meant going from the 555's drag to a 05 street. I know that the 05 drag radial is better then the 555 drag radial. Thanks about the noise issue, I think that it's no longer something that will make a difference. Just wondering about grip on street of the 05. My 555 drag have trouble if I hammer the gas. Thanks again!

NT05's or fail. I love my NT05's!!! they are not noisy and they are great hooking tires. No way would I ever choose the nt555r over the NT05.

I was thinking the same thing, thanks for doing the legwork for me! I was thinking about maybe getting the NT05R instead of the street NT05, I wonder how much faster they will wear? Of course with a little fun driving here and there.. no super nasty burnouts- not until they are done but you know, its still a cObra

Well just ordered some NT05's. 295/35/18 for my Saleen's. I hope they hold up under 600+ hp in my car. They should do better then the 295/30 series HTR Z-III's I have in the rear. Good tire... but not so much under boost ALL the way until 4th gear.... Sometimes 60ish MPH highway pulls get those things so give up and kick the car loose...

Picked them up from DiscountTire for $454 delivered to my house.
