Noise Under Car

the tick in my car was only noticible at operating temp also. infact, i heard it from the passanger side, but it turned out to be the driver side. they just finished my car yesterday with the new heads. the TSB is extended to the 04 models for the 05 heads for anyone who thinks they only cover the old car. btw, i was running a wix filter, so i know it was not the filter.

What's the build date of your 04?

I've had this exact thing happen with my 03. A ticking noise would develop after the engine was fully warmed up and not before.

Ticking noise that seems to come from the middle of the engine somewhere. Doesn't sound like the infamous "tick" since it's the same volume at the top, bottom, left, or right of the engine.

I changed my oil and the tick went away, at least for a while.

Unfortunately, the tick is now back again. I've been using Purolator Pure One filters, but I just bought three Motorcraft filters for future oil changes.

They recommended Motorcraft oil filters for me too, they are about half the price of "Pro" or "Double Guard" Fram Crap at Wal-Mart!!!
