Isn't nitrous more of a pain in the butt than it's worth? I mean don't you have to check your plugs after every few passes, and it's way harder on the motor than typical boost, etc?

I run a very small 35 shot on my car on occasions that require a little more power. That being said, modern controllers make nitrous much safer. It really depends on the shot and system. Guys that neglect wot switches and window switches are the ones that mostly have problems. Plus it's very easy to pill up a motor and run a bigger shot on demand. It takes a little self control, but it's a great and cheap power adder.

Found some debris in the nipple that goes to the plate. Not sure if that would be enough to cause problems. I'm going to pick up a digital scale this weekend so I can do the flow test and see if there are other restrictions

Yes that's enough to cause flow issues, I know it's a PiTA but I'd pull the nitrous solenoid inlet nipple and check it for trash also.

Yeah that looks like some trash from a mother bottle. That is probably enough to block off 10-20% of nitrous flow. I think you will see better results with it cleaned out. Look forward to your reply and getting this issue resolved!

Thanks,

Depends on how much you are spraying (for how often you have to check plugs). It is a good idea to pull plugs with boost also to look for a timing mark. If you are spraying anything 150 or under, I would pull the plugs to get it dialed in, then use a wideband to keep an eye on things. Sure if you are spraying 300-400hp, then you would probably check the plugs alot more often, and at that point its probably mainly a drag car anyways.

Nitrous isn't any worse on a motor than boost, either one can be dangerous to a motor if you don't know what you are doing. Nitrous is only there when you need it. As long as you follow the manufacturer's guidelines and use all the up to date safety features and accessories, there is no reason nitrous can't be just as reliable/safe as boost.

Also, nitrous works great with boost. You will see a huge drop in IAT's, it cools the air charge a TON! It can also be used to help spool, and often will let you get more peak boost. It can be especially beneficial to someone with a roots style blower or anyone with heatsoak issues.

The two main reason's people hurt stuff...

1. They mix and match a system together, and/or completely disregard the manafacturer's tuning advice/ the tuner doesn't know what he's doing.
2. They try to spray more than what the motor will handle.

Thanks,
Garrett

Yep 100-150 would be great for a fairly stock DD.

We just sell the accessories seperate of the system, I would be happy to write you up a quote if you need me to.
